Bing Dundun is gender neutral, does not make sounds, and only conveys information through body movements.
“Ice” symbolizes purity and strength, which are the characteristics of the Winter Olympics. “Dundun” means honest, sturdy and cute, which fits the overall image of the panda and symbolizes the strong body, indomitable will and inspiring Olympic spirit of the Winter Olympic athletes.
The combination of Bingdundun panda image and ice crystal shell integrates cultural elements with ice and snow sports and endows it with new cultural attributes and characteristics, reflecting the characteristics of winter ice and snow sports. Pandas are recognized by the world as China’s national treasures, with a friendly, cute and naive look. This design can not only represent China, which hosts the Winter Olympics, but also the Winter Olympics with a Chinese flavor. The color halo of the head is inspired by the North National Speed Skating Hall – “Ice Ribbon”, and the flowing lines symbolize the ice and snow sports track and 5G high-tech. The head shell shape is taken from the snow sports helmet. The overall shape of the panda is like an astronaut. It is an ice and snow sports expert from the future, which means the combination of modern technology and ice and snow sports.
